A Few Tips On Fishing In the Canals Of South Florida

What type of lures or live bait should I use to catch a walleye? I live in South Florida and fish in canals. Thank You, Wesley Reeder, age 9

Many individuals often find that fishing for walleye in the canals of South Florida isn’t quite the same as fishing somewhere else. For the most part, the techniques are the same as well as patience of course, and even some of the lures. However, in some instances the concept of which lures to use is different. Amazingly, live bait in the canals is the best for catching walleye. This is because walleye like to ambush their food. Also, if an individual casts right next to a walleye it will jump or attack the bait fast. However, there are some lures that will do exactly the same. Lures that bring pretty good results in the Florida canals could be crank baits of different kinds. There are also colorful jigs and spoons that are effective. If the walleye is able so see something moving in the water and it’s hungry it will try and eat it, no matter what that lure is. In many situations color and shiny is effective as far as lures go. Split lures are also useful because the lure will move a lot once it is cast into the water. There are several different web sites that offer individuals information about lures and different tips and techniques via the Internet. Some web sites also have postings from fish anglers who have used a variety of lures effectively, and these posts are seen in a forum. Also, there are some web sites that will essentially allow individuals to post the questions that might be in mind for catching the Walleye or fishing in general.
