The best place to fish the walleye in Illinois is by Rockton. The Rock River has some of the finest walleye fishing in that area. If you are looking for cold chilly, wintry days of fishing, this is where you want to head. You will want to set up by Sand Hole, which is a great area for finding walleye. You will need a boat to get to this area. In this area, you should consider using a floating jig head as well as floating Rapalas.

If you are looking for walleye fishing al year long, the Spillway Island is a great area to visit. Some anglers prefer to fish this area between December and February, but the fishing is great anytime. Fish this area with jigs and minnows. You will want to bring your waders along as well. Keep in mind, you have to work the jig to catch the walleye in the cold waters.
