Best Walleye Fishing Ontario

Lake of the Woods:

This large lake, located in Western Ontario, boasts thousands of islands to fish from or troll around. In fact, there are so many islands here, you can fish a different one every day of your life, and still not touch them all. This lake was created over 10,000 years ago, when the glaciers started to recede, carving deep ruts into the granite rocks. This area is one of the oldest geographical formations on the entire earth. The number of walleye in this lake is astronomical and they come in monster sizes as well. On the Lake of the Woods, you have the flexibility of fishing by boat or off shore. The best fishing here; however, is ice fishing. There is a vast array of outfitters that you can rent ice huts from so that you can spend the day comfortably huddled up over your hole.

Pasha Lake:

Hailed by many as every fisherman’s dream, the Pasha Lake area is actually comprised of over 24 small lakes and rivers. Each one offers extraordinary walleye fishing. There is an area that has long been kept a secret from most anglers, and it is only accessible via helicopter or jet boat. If you travel about 5 kilometres up Jackfish River, there is a pristine and virtually untouched area where you can catch anywhere from 150 – 600 walleye per boat. This is a great place to take the first time fisherman, especially children. Imagine the look on their faces when they pull in fish after fish, and then turn
to you and say that their arms are too tired to continue. Not many fishing areas in the world can claim this.

Again, there are literally thousands of areas in Ontario to fish for walleye, and there is no way that one person can fish every one of them in a single lifetime. But, the fun and challenge lies in trying.
