Can someone take me walleye fishing to show me how to do it?

I think I’d like to my hand at fishing for Walleye but I don’t know much about fishing and I really don’t want to buy a lot of equipment until I’m sure I plan on making it a hobby. How can I find someone in the area that might be willing to let me give it a try?

Well, my first suggestion would be to head down to the lake and start talking to local fishermen. If you can strike up a conversation and maybe a friendship, you just might be able to talk yourself onto somebody’s boat. If that doesn’t work, hire a Walleye guide. You can usually find them listed in the phone book or on the internet. You can also check for fliers at local bait and tackle shops. Hiring a guide to take you out will eliminate the need for you to purchase your own equipment because most of them will supply you with what you need. You’ll also get the opportunity to learn from a seasoned pro and those lessons can be invaluable. Rarely will you come away from a guided fishing trip without a catch so you’re less likely to be put off by the frustration that beginners often encounter their first time out. When choosing a guide, you’ll want to get references and take the time to check them out. It’s also a good idea to get everything in writing so you know what to expect and aren’t disappointed at the end of the day. Oh, by the way, don’t forget your fishing license!
