Do you have any advice for catching wallye in Lake Huron?

Lake Huron is a big lake to fish. There are so many different areas that you can fish for walleye. The first thing I would tell you is to choose your bait. On Lake Huron, the walleye are found in the deeper waters during the day and in the summer months. You would want to use a 1/4 ounce jig. During the nighttime and in the spring months, the walleye are in the shallow waters and a 1/8 ounce jig will work the best. Troll along the shore lines during the spring and you should find yourself with more catches than you can keep. Do this right before the sunrises or at night right as the sun starts going down. I would use a three or four inch Rapala. The one thing to remember about this area is that there are many underwater rock formations and flats where the walleye like to hang out. I would use a locator to find the targeted areas on Lake Huron. Another way to get your feet wet is to use one of the guide services. You can get a feel for the area and at the same time, note some of the places so you can come back and fish yourself in the future. The lake is huge, so the areas you fish are going to be larger than if you were to fish a smaller lake or river. The fish have a big area to swim. But they still have their preference for location.
