Fremont Walleye %u2028

I have purchased a house on the river in Fremont, What is the best way to catch a few walleyes? When I’m standing in my backyard the party doll is to my left and Fremont is to my rt. It looks like the current of the river is on my side of the river. When I was a kid I loved to fish! though the years I have lost interest in it. Now since the chance is in my back yard agian. How can I get back into it..!!! thanks for your time Josh

First off Josh, make sure you have the right equipment and the right bait to fish for walleye. The Fremont River will let you have a great time, and you should remember that walleye love to hide in different areas in the water. They do like the deeper water in most cases. But if you find a place where the water is a bit deep, and there is a nice rock formation, the walleye could be hiding in there. This is where they love to sit back and wait for the fish to come out that they eat. Another great place to look for the walleye is in an area where you find a nice weed bed; again, a place where the walleye will wait for their prey to come out. Use of a jig is most popular where you fish for walleye. Find them in colors like turquoise, blue, or yellow, or a nice plastic worm or grub can even work. The thing about walleye is that they are a bunch of picky eaters, and may not always hit on the same bait from day to day. If your location is one where the walleye go to spawn, remember that you shouldn’t try to catch too many of the larger females. This will help the population of walleye to stay up where it should be. But as said, if they have spawned in your area before they will be back every year. They are a creature of habit, these walleye. With regards a pole, you should buy one that is around six to seven feet in length. The line doesn’t have to be too heavy of a test, but a nice medium line will work just great. Fishing will be a great way for you to relax after a hard day, or even on the weekend. Catch some very tasty walleye and you will have yourself a nice meal.
