I’m planning a trip to Alberta – where are the best places for Walleye Fishing? What baits and lures should I use?
Cold Lake is the lake to find good-sized walleyes. You will have a full day of fishing with good results. This is a popular place to fish. You can use a guide service or fish yourself. You can access the water from Cold lake Municipal District Park or Cold Lake Provincial Park. Another fine lake for fishing walleye in Alberta is Lesser Slave Lake. You will find Hilliard’s bay Provincial Park is on the shore to the northwest. There are two boat launches on Lesser Slave River side and one by the Canyon Creek on the shore to the south. Other popular lakes specializing in walleyes are Marie Lake, Lac Ste Anne, Isle Lake, Gull Lake and Gregoire Lake. There are more walleye fishing lakes up in Canada, especially in the Alberta area. You will have a good time if you want to do some walleye fishing. Depending on the area you are visiting, there seems to be a lake in every area of Alberta to fish. You can enjoy some beautiful scenery at each lake as well. There is nothing more exciting than a trip to Alberta and some walleye fishing. Many anglers will try to make it up to that area at least once in their time of fishing because it is so extraordinary to fish. You can ask around to se what baits are working when you get there. It is always hard to say what is working at what time of year without being there at the time.
