I’m taking the family to Canada and I was wondering if you have any tips for planning a fishing trip to Canada? No particular area…I’m open to anything.
First off, depending on the time of year you plan to go, you will want to take the right equipment and clothes. This time of year, it is getting colder up in Canada. If you are looking for an outpost, many of them close to fishing in early October. You would be wise to plan a trip with one of the reputable outpost or you might be interested in finding a fishing hole yourself. There are many lakes and rivers up in Canada for fishing walleye. Marchington Lake is a great place to take the family for some walleye fishing. Ontario is a beautiful part of Canada and many anglers go to this area for walleyes. They have taken some trophy walleye out of this lake. They have some cabins that you can rent out, which makes it nicer. You are right there when you wake up in the morning. There are some popular outposts on Mattice Lake. Mattice Lake Outfitters is remote and you will catch a walleye every time. If you go up through Minnesota and cross over into Canada, you can fish the lake right on the other side of the border. There are some nice sized walleyes coming out of this lake. You will find that right over the border is all you have to travel to find some good fishing. Just make sure to watch the weather conditions to know when and if you can get out and find the walleye. The walleye start slowing down in the colder temperatures as we are having now.
