I will be in Iowa this summer, what can I expect in the way of walleye fishing?

Iowa is a great place for walleye fishing in the summer. You will want to go out early in the morning and in the evening before the sun goes down. You will find that this is a prime time to get the walleye close to the shore due to their spawning efforts. In fact, you can find prime locations that offer you a chance to get tons of great fish from a single outing. There can be limits on size and number in some places though. It is a good idea to find out all of those regulations before you head out. It is a good idea to claim those great fishing spots early too. They will be taken up fast by various avid fishermen so don’t get out there too late in the morning!
You will find that a variety of types of bait are going to get the fish when they are spawning. However, walleye can be picky so you need to be prepared. Bring along several lures and types of bait so you can experiment and use what gets you the best results.
