Is there Walleye fishihng in Arizona? Where?

There is walleye fishing in Arizona at a handful of likes. Apache Lake, Canyon Lake, Lake Powell and Saguaro Lake are places that have walleye fishing. Apache Lake is about north east of Apache Junction about twenty-five miles. Ten miles east of Apache Junction is Canyon lake and Saguaro lake is north east from Mesa about ten miles. Lake Powell is right by the border of the state by Page.

The three popular lakes with more catches than the fore mentioned are the Fools Hollow Lake, Upper Lake Mary and Show Low Lake. These three lakes are the best for walleye fishing with live bait as well as crankbaits, grubs, plastic worms and spoons. They say the walleye in Arizona will eat anything you throw in front of it.

Anglers report using the flat line trolling method to catch the walleye as well as drop shotting, long lining and suspending jerk baits. The walleye do stay in the deeper water and there are some areas underwater where they like to hide out. One suggestion would be to visit the local bait shop to find out where on the lakes the walleye are biting at that time. You could fine them in one area today, but next week they be biting better somewhere else on the lake. Many anglers do say they have better catches at night right after sunset during the summer months. Everything changes, you have to find out information for the day you decide to fish on the lake.
