If you ever happen to find yourself in North Dakota, looking for some nice size walleyes, then you should try Devil’s Lake, Red River or the Yellowstone and Missouri Rivers as well as Sakakawea Lake. You will find that North Dakota walleye are not as fussy as to what they eat and pretty much strike anything. You will find that you do not have to spend a lot on multiple baits to fish for walleye in North Dakota. The best times however, to fish the walleye seems to be in spring during the spawn and in the fall right before they are getting ready for a long winter.
You will not need a guide in North Dakota, you can just stop at one of the many bait shops in the areas of the hotspots to gain some useful information about walleye fishing and where the anglers are finding the best strikes. You will make a good catch in the area and come home with more fish then what you will know what to do with. You do need to follow the North Dakota rules and regulations for catching and keeping the walleye.
