What should I look for in a walleye lodge?
When you go to pick out a lodge during your walleye fishing expedition, the decision will be made fairly easily by certain requirements into consideration. First off you will need to decide where you’re fishing at and how close you want to be to the lake or river you’re fishing at. The size of the lodge you pick out will of course depend on the size of your fishing party and whether you all are staying in one lodge or not. What style of lodge do you want? Perhaps you don’t mind staying at a hotel that is close to the location because you want the service of maids, and a place to eat at that is easy to get to. Or maybe you want a cabin type lodge, where you will be able to stay and have to clean up yourself. But having a private cabin that you can relax in after a great day of fishing will seem fun compared to the hotel atmosphere; it is closer to a camping feel. A log cabin would be a great setting to enjoy the trip too. Check into one; you can buy food and bring it along to cook there too, or eat the fish you catch. Do you want to rent a cabin? If there are several of you going you can always split the cost and it may in the long run have you paying a lot less than the stay at a hotel. Depending on where you’re fishing at you may need to look into reserving the cabin or a room at a lodge ahead of time. Plan ahead of time and you shouldn’t run into problems with having a place to stay on your fishing trip. Remember to pick out what location you would like to stay at, and have a fun trip.
