Riggings and Leaders for Catching Walleye in the Mississippi

yeah i was wanting to know the best riggings and leaders for catching walleye in the mississippi in nov. i,am fishing under damm 21 in quincy, ill.

Rigging is the term used to name the terminal setup for fishing. The thing is most anglers actually mean baitrigging when they say rigging. Lets go on the assumption that is what you mean. Rigging is going to encompass rigging with live bait, dead bait, and a few new options as well. The longer you fish, the more you are going to realize that simple really is the best when it comes to rigging. One of my favorite rigs for any fishing, but walleye fishing in particular, is the lindy rig. The key to rigging is the simplicity, but no rig that does not look and behave like natural bait in the water is going to be effective. Likewise, a rig that gets tangled and snagged takes the joy right out of fishing. The Lindy rig has been modified somewhat over the years and it works very well. The leader for the Lindy rig was originally twenty-four inches long. Later, it was lengthened to thirty-six inches. Now, the inventor of the Lindy, Ron Lindner uses a leader about six inches long, and says it is amazing how well it really works. It snags less, tangles less, and it gives the opportunity to set the hook immediately when the bait is taken. There are a huge variety of leaders and rigs you can use to catch walleye, but the important thing is to adapt to the waters and time of year in which you are fishing, and stick with what works for you. Good Luck!
