Spring Walleye Fishing Tips

I live in Canada, and I’m looking for the best spring walleye fishing tips – what’s the best way to catch them in spring weather in Canada?

Well they tend to bite more at twilight. Therefore, you can try fishing at dawn or dusk. One of the best ways to catch them is using jigging. However, you need to take into account the color and size of the jig as well as the location of where you will be fishing. Ontario’s Sunset Country is known as one of the best places in North America for walleye fishing, although Lake Erie is an excellent place to go walleye fishing as well. Another well known lake where good size walleye are known to be is Tobin Lake. It is a good idea to try jigging especially ones that are tipped with live bait. You must always keep your line tight so you will be able feel the slightest bite or nibble. If pulling your jig up and down does not catch anything, you can drag the line along the bottom. This is almost always a sure fire way to get a good catch. If jigging does not work for you then you should try crankbaiting. This way of baiting will let you know fast if the fish are biting in the area you are fishing. If you have found a good concentration of walleye then you can move onto slip bobbing. It is definately the best way to catch walleye in these conditions. Make your bait look natural and the chances are the walleye will not turn it down. This is a simple and very effective way for catching walleye.
