As the best fishing lures are mainly down to individual preference the best one will vary between each angler, as everyone will have their favorites. There are some fishermen that would say that there is a best lure for every single fishing experience, as the best lure is the one that catches your fish. These will vary. It is possible to take recommendations on fishing lures; however, it is not possible to say that one is actually the best lure to use when fishing for walleye. It can be a difficult thing for fishermen when they are trying to decide on the best lure that they should use. It is very much a case of trial and error. There are literally thousands of lures to choose from, so it can be difficult deciding on which one to use. The top water lures for fishing are as the name suggests; lures that float upon the surface of the water. These fishing lures tend to resemble frogs, bait fish and even some small mammals. Some fishermen have found the best top water bait to be things such as the Zara Spook. It is best to use the top water lures when the water is very calm and the surface of the water is like glass, as this is when the top water fishing lures will work best. Another one of the lures that tend to be popular with fishermen is what is classed as spinners and spoons. Both of these lures resemble baitfish, and they are both very effective ways for catching walleye. The most popular styles of spinners are the Rooster Trails. The most popular style of spoons is the daredevils.
