What strategy would you use to catch walleye at mille lacs?

The first thing you need to do is find the area of the lake where the walleye are located. The best way to fish is back trolling. The important thing is to be able to maintain the position you are at while do a troll. Use a long enough leader. I would suggest about six feet, but I have heard of some using a leader as long as ten feet. I prefer the six-foot length. Add a 1/2 ounce slip sinker with a good swivel and a minnow or a leech and you will be catching walleye in no time. Keep in mind that the way the fish bite has everything to do with the weather conditions. If the wind is blowing, try using a slip bobber and fish around the points. The tournaments held on the lake are always phenomenal. You see anglers using these ways of fishing and they bring in some nice size catches. It is easy to catch the fish if you remember how and where to fish for every different weather condition. The one thing many anglers will tell you is to get out on the lake as soon as the ice breaks up. This is still cold and you will find that fishing into the wind will work the best. The Lake Mille Lacs is a great place to fish any time of the year. Even ice fishing is up on the lake. It seems that everyone is trying to find a way to have walleye for dinner all year long.
