I’m a die hard wallye fishermen, and I’m looking for some Canadian outposts that you fly in to for fishing walleye. Can I have a few recommendations?
The one that comes to mind right away for some intense walleye fishing with no neighbors to ruin the day is the Rand Thomas Canada Outfitters, located in Kenora, Ontario. Kenora is about one mile or so from Minnesota’s International Falls. The floatplane picks you up at the dock in Kenora and takes you to some the best walleye fishing areas where you are secluded from the world. It is a great fly-in fishing adventure. Another great fly-in outfitter is Kesagami Wilderness Lodge. This place has become well known for trophy walleyes. They have been seen on fishing shows and in outdoor magazines as a great place to fish for walleye and pike. The outfitter is a catch and release outfit, but they do let you keep some smaller walleye for a shore lunch. If you want to take home more fish, you might have to look for a different outfitter with no restrictions on the catch. Some other lakes that have some fly-in outfitters that are just as popular for walleye fishing are Kershaw Lake, Grew Lake, Mosher Lake and Tommyhow Lake. You will find some great areas in Canada for fly-in fishing as well as places that you just drive to and stay in a cabin or lodge. You can check some of the outfitters to find out what there catch restrictions are and where they take you for fishing. Take some time to check out these outfitters and see which one will give you the best fishing experience.
