If it’s really windy – will that affect my chances of catching Walleye?
No, and in some cases it will make things better for you… a lot better!
You see, a consistent wind blowing in a single direction will blow small organisms (i.e. bait fish food) to the shore that is facing the wind.
And you can be sure, that gobs of bait fish will be hanging out on this wind-blown shore to feed on these organisms (sometimes called zooplankton). And when there are swarms of bait fish… you can bet that there are a bunch of Walleye that will be there shortly.
Use some live bait and fish the wind-blown shore completely… you are bound to have a good day!
If it is too windy, it can really muck things up, stir up silt, and make thing difficult. But that’s only in severe winds. Anything less than a small hurricane, and you can fish the windy shore to catch a ton of walleye… enjoy!
