To start out you will want to fish where the pike are hanging around so try to
fish around rocks and ledges because the pike like to hide in these places to ambush their prey. If you are fishing on a lake and you can get to the inlet from the river or stream that feeds the lake this will be a good place to start also. Walleye or some of the other fish pike prey on will be using this inlet so the pike will not be too far away.

Patience is something you will need as well because pike will play with bait quite often so give them some time to commit before trying to set the hook. Use a good spoon or a Rapala or even a combination with the spoon hooked to the Rapala with a leader. When casting make sure to cast high and when the lure is a couple of feet of the water jerk it so that it will slap the surface then go to work. Pike like lots of action.
